Becoming a member of the Fat Hen Inc. gives you voting rights at its Annual General Meeetings and any Special General Meetings that it may have. It also ensures receipt of our regular newsletter, the sCoop, and entitles you to any special offers we might have. Membership costs $20 if you're waged or $10 if you're unwaged per year.

Members receive a 5% discount off every shop.
Volunteers (with a minimum 4 hours every 4 weeks) receive a 10% discount off every shop.

volunteers

The co-op is run entirely on a volunteer basis, providing a forum where skills and knowledge are exchanged. The main tasks include serving customers and working the till, restocking, cleaning, etc and helping out at catering or stalls. Besides getting the discount, volunteering is fun, you pick up some valuable retail and perhaps culinary skills and you get to talk to interesting, and sometimes eccentric, people!

meetings

Food co-op meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month @ 7:30pm in the shop. Agenda items may be added to the list displayed in the shop and involvement is very encouraged!
